Fashion has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. I was first introduced to fashion as a child modeling kids wear. That was my first foray into the fashion world and I was hooked. As I grew older, I learned the importance of styling and incorporating the classics. My closet became a popular stop for friends, always looking for something new to borrow. I was a stylist without even knowing it! In 2004, I graduated The University of Maryland as a Fine Arts Major and a Graphics Design Minor. It was here that I developed a keen eye for prints and a strong sense of color. After graduation, I joined the NYC fashion world and worked nights towards a Design degree. In all, I spent over 10 years designing women’s, men’s, and children’s clothing. Two of these years were spent in Amsterdam designing for an international women’s line. This gave me the opportunity to travel Europe, Asia, and Africa. This was truly an enlightening experience for me from which I learned how individual styles could be expressed so differently in different cultures. Fast forward two years and I’m back in the U.S. designing for a children’s line. My husband and I had our 1st child and after three months at home, I decided it was time to return to work. I soon realized that the hours and travel associated with my previous life as a designer no longer fit my new life as a mother. Now with my 2nd child, my life became even more fulfilled but I still longed for some of what I had left behind. That was when some friends encouraged me to start my own personal styling venture. This is how MODA MAKEOVER was born. I want you to feel confident in your look while being true to your style!
